'They can't do business like this': Thailand threatens to 'close down Facebook'
Thailand repeatedly urged Facebook for advertisements it had identified as scams to be taken down
Thailand's priest for computerized media said Monday that he intends to prosecute to close down Meta's online entertainment stage Facebook in Thailand assuming it neglects to make a move over tricks that have impacted north of 200,000 individuals as of late.
Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn told the worldwide media organization Reuters: "We are requesting that the court close Facebook, not permitting it to offer types of assistance in Thailand assuming they let these phony pages trick individuals."
The service had over and over encouraged Facebook for ads it had recognized as tricks to be made a down yet no move was taken, and it would look for court intercession now, the Service of Computerized Economy and Society told the media.
Meta didn't quickly answer an email looking for input.
Service representative Wetang Phuangsup said authorities were right now assembling proof of bad behavior by Facebook that would be introduced under the watchful eye of the court.
He added: "In the event that there is a ton of bad behavior, the court could shut down pages and records. Or on the other hand the court could close the whole stage."
Tricks on Facebook included drawing clients to put resources into counterfeit organizations, faking government bodies like the Protections and Trade Commission and exchanging advanced monetary standards, the service said.
"They can't carry on with work like this," Chaiwut said.
