 Balkan Barbie: 11-year-old creates authentic line of Bosnian dolls


As the new Barbie film keeps on winning fans around the world, a Bosnian young lady is hand-production her own wonderfully executed customary Balkan outfits for the dolls, mostly in a bid to counterbalance a portion of the trashy craftsmanship she's seen.


Eleven-year-old Esma Gljiva from Sarajevo began her task over a month prior subsequent to seeing low quality figures in a trinket shop.


"These were a few plastic dolls wearing fables ensembles, they were not even the genuine dolls... they were not as expected dressed by any stretch of the imagination," she said. "I attempted to do it in a superior manner, and I believe that I succeeded."

Gljiva presently can't seem to see the Barbie film, yet her loved ones say she encapsulates the soul of female freedom on show in the film. She is very precise when making dolls dressed in traditional Muslim, Christian Orthodox and Catholic costumes, and takes care over hairstyles and miniature jewellery.

She says she would name her dolls the "Bosnian Barbie dolls" and is arranging outfits for a Bosnian old stories Ken.


Gljiva gets orders for her dolls everyday, and she has sent them to Bulgaria, Czechia, Turkmenistan, Norway, England and different nations.


"We are glad to the point that she embraced this venture with such commitment, and went through her late spring occasion days doing this," said her mom Adana Gljiva. "She additionally brought in her pocket cash."
